Informative EMC Webcast – EMC VNX Engineering Update & CX4 VAAI with vSphere scoop

Just a quick post for all you EMC VNX and CX4 storage users out there.  EMC vGeek and all round nice chap, Chad Sakac (@sakacc), recently held a webcast that covered a number of informative EMC storage related topics that will no doubt prove to be of interest.  Chad covers the topics of:

  • VNX FAST VP code deep dive
  • VNX major software update (codenamed: Inyo) that will be released in the not too distant future
  • And… the curious topic of the EMC CX4 arrays being listed as not supported with VAAI under vSphere 5, but being listed as supported with vSphere 4 (VNX arrays are supported with VAAI on both).  In typical Chad fashion he is completely open and transparent about the reasons behind why this is the case.
