vBeers Tweetup – VMworld San Francisco 2012

by Simon Seagrave 1 Comment

VMworld San Francisco 2012 is almost upon us, and what better time for a vBeers Tweetup? I couldn’t let this opportunity go by without arranging one, so am please to announce a VMworld San Francisco vBeers Tweetup on Saturday 25th August, the day before the show doors open. The last VMworld San Francisco vBeers 2010 was well attended and everyone had a great time.

VMworld San Francisco 2012 vBeersThere was no point trying to arrange the vBeers Tweetup after the Saturday as the VMworld schedule is already crammed full of vendor and VMworld parties, and of course there is the famous VMunderground Warm up Party as a Service (WuPaaS) party of the Sunday night, which is a must attend event – assuming you can get a ticket due to the high demand!  Kudos to @theronconrey @bknudtson and @vseanclark for all the hard work they’ve put into organising yet another VMundergroup WuPaaS, as there is a ton of work involved in pulling such an event together. Nice work guys!vBeers VMworld 2012[6]

So before the madness of the VMworld week starts, the vBeers Tweetup is intended as a way to relax, chill-out and catch up with friends, new and old.  If you don’t know anyone attending then that doesn’t matter as your fellow vGeeks are a friendly welcoming bunch who also like to network, talk tech and share vStories.

vBeers Tweetup - VMworld San Francisco 2012Before we continue I should point out that the vBeers Tweetup is not in any way sponsored,it is a case of turning up, enjoying yourself and paying for your own drinks and food.  Think of this as a traditional old school style Tweetup.  There was discussion about some sponsorship by a vendor to cover some drinks and finger food though this didn’t eventuate due to timings.

Where is this VMworld San Francisco 2012 vBeers Tweetup going to be held?

VMworld San Francisco 2012 vBeers TweetupThe venue for this VMworld vBeers Tweetup is back at “The Chieftain” Irish pub and restaurant, which has a great relaxed informal atmosphere with good food and drink.  Also, FYI they have free Wi-Fi, which will save all you overseas folk clocking-up massive data bills on your Smart Phones.

As for registering, no need – all you need to do is turn up!  First come, first served with seating, can’t be fairer than that.

Hope to see you there!   The details around where, when, etc can be found below.
