I’m always interested to know what these very large web based or hosting companies such as Google, Amazon, Rackspace and the like have in the way of infrastructure as it usually involves some very innovative scaling solutions along with lots of cool server, storage and networking hardware.
This article from Data Center Knowledge is more focused around hosting companies though does give an insight into which companies have the most web servers. The title mentions ‘web servers’ though I think this should be taken to include all servers despite some of the companies being mentioned being hosting focused.
So for those, like me, that get a buzz over seeing very large server numbers then this article is worth a read.
What is the largest server environment you’ve ever managed/administered/visited?
