Here’s IBM’s much awaited Blade server offering – The Power6 Blade. The link below to The Register gives some high level specs on it. I see from the photo’s that the hard disk is located at the back of chassis. A bit of bad idea in my opinion as this is where the majority of hot air from the front of blade flows over on its way out the back. Also, having a non-hot pluggable drive doesn’t really seem like the best plan. But I guess if your booting off a SAN then this becomes something of a non-issue. Click here for the link.
